Your Skincare Routine in Spring
/It's so wonderful to see the green shoots and blossoms and renewal all around us as we (finally!) head into spring. It makes us want to feel just as fresh and glowing ourselves! So this month we've rounded up a few general but always great to keep in mind tips on natural skin care, so we can all move into this new season with a sense of rejuvenation.
The basics of good skin will always apply, no matter the season. Drink lots of water, get as much sleep as you can, eat good food with lots of healthy fats and a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. But as things get warmer and brighter you may want to make a few adjustments to your routine. Spending less time indoors with heating systems means your skin will be less prone to drying out, so you’ll likely benefit from switching to a lighter moisturizer. And more time outdoors means boosting the amount of sunscreen you use, and/or reapplying it more regularly throughout the day—as always we strongly recommend finding a natural version that works for you, rather than relying on harsh chemicals. You may also be switching up your makeup, too, opting for lighter and brighter shades. This can be a great opportunity to take a good look at the products you’re using and see where you might be able to swap in some more natural versions. We actually have a great makeup section at Pomme, filled with really beautiful, cruelty-free, toxin-free products that our healthy living staff are always happy to help you with. Your skin, the planet, and the animals with thank you!!
And this is just an excellent time of year to treat yourself to a deep cleaning, exfoliating facial whether you want to go the full DIY route with natural clays, essential oils, and/or ingredients from your kitchen, or want to take an in-between path by picking up some of the beautiful, all natural, locally made skin care products we’re so lucky to have available to us these days. It will get you glowing and can even help you set some great, revitalizing intentions for the coming months!
